Christopher Carpenter After being the best part of so many bands, it's great to hear what happens when Shannon is controlling transmission. The common thread in all her work is how much fun you both have when she's playing. She takes on sexism and general ignorance ("Read a Book" may be one of my favorite song titles ever) with a confident cheerfulness, like a raised middle finger with a smiley face tattoo on the finger itself.
